The permanent exhibition displays characteristics, interesting facts and special features of natural areas of Gorski kotar, together with elements of traditional coexistence of humans and nature in this area. After 1.5 km you will reach the crossroads on which you turn right towards Lukovdol. A windy asphalt road will take you through picturesque pastures, orchards and villages. After 4 km you will reach Lukovdol, the birthplace of the poet Ivan Goran Kova\u010di\u0107 where are located the museum and amphitheatre as well as the church of the Holy Virgin Mary Taken to the Sky close by and the church of Francis Xavier, a, very valuable monument from 17th century.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>From the centre of Lukovdol, the transverse road continues to Plemenita\u0161 in which the Formative Art Workshop is located. During the summer season, art events that stimulate cultural tourism in Gorski kotar take place there. Just below the Formative Art Workshop you will reach the crossroads with gravel road on which you turn left and continue to the Ravni village. After that, follows a more demanding rise towards Brod Moravice through a dense beech forest.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The rise ends after almost 4 km on the crossroads for Orlova stijena (Eagle\u2019s Rock) and Litori\u0107 excursion point. As a reward for a successfully finished rise, we suggest you to turn right on the same crossroads and after less than 1 km ride through the forest trail, one of the most beautiful mountain belvederes named \u201cEagle\u2019s Rock\u201d will appear. It is the place from where a wide view spreads over the beautiful Kupa River valley as well as villages of the neighbour Slovenija. Enjoy the view over the longest Croatian river and then continue your ride towards the Razdrto village where the asphalt road begins. A windy road will take you to Brod Moravice \u2013 in the heart of the smallest, but the oldest municipality of Gorski kotar on which area are located 38 settlements, several excuisite belveders over the Kupa River (Kavranova and Orlova stijena, \u0160pi\u010dasti vrh, Medveja stena, etc.), a number of churches and chapels as well as the oldest, excellently preserved, house in Gorski kotar \u2013 the Dela\u010d house from 1644. If we add some 50 km of arranged and marked cycling trails and several strawberry, raspberry, cherry and mushroom growers, we believe you will want to stay here a couple of days longer.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>From the centre of Brod Moravice, transverse road descends towards the Lokvica village where you turn right in the direction of Brod na Kupi. What is waiting for you is over 5 km long descent towards Kupa valley and \u010cedanj village located on the very banks of Kupa River. After \u010cedanj, a plesant ride follows along the Kupa River all up to the Brod na Kupi where the Zrinski Castle is located. The entire Kupa Valley is often referred to as the Butterfly Valley. The road takes you along the right bank of the Kupa River to the picturesque hamlets of Ku\u017eelj, Ga\u0161parci, Turke, and numerous rapids and beaches may incline you to refresh yourself in the river. From the village of Hrvatsko to the source of Kupa there is a promenade, and in Kupari there is a visitor center 'The birthplace of the Kupa River'. At the end of the road to Tr\u0161\u0107e you arrive at Zamost where you can see the still active water mill and sawmill of the river Gerov\u010dica or continue along the road (P 2) towards Mali Lug.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The transverse road will lead you along the \u010cabranka River upflow first to the Ple\u0161ce village. You must not miss to see Pal\u010dava \u0161i\u0161a \u2013 a house owned by the \u010cop family from 1856 in which the old trade customs with original equipment have been preserved, as well as an arched groundfloor rooms with tavern, whilst on the upper floor is the old office, a saloon with rich equipment and decorations from 1880s and bedrooms. From Ple\u0161ca we continue upflow along \u010cabranka River to reach \u010cabar \u2013 one of the oldest towns in Gorski kotar that is linked to Crusaders who passed across this area. The development of this area is connected to Petar Zrinski who in 1651 built in \u010cabar an iron smeltery. The most famous facility in \u010cabar is the Zrinski Castle from 16th century and only 700 m distant from the castle is the spring of \u010cabranka River that you must visit.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>After riding on a relatively plain road from the centre of \u010cabar begins a more demanding rise (4 km) until Parg. Riding up through serpentines towards one of the coldest places during winter in Croatia, you will leave the Kupa valley behind your shoulders as well as one of the most beautiful belvederes of that area \u2013 Tropetarska stijena rock reachable through the homonymous instructive trail. In Parg you will reach the crossroads with the Tr\u0161\u0107e \u2013 Prezid road on which you turn left and after 3.5 km reach the centre of Tr\u0161\u0107e. But, if you want to ride another few kilometres and discover more attractions of the \u010cabar area, in Parg turn right towards Prezid and after 4 km you will reach Goat\u2019s peak where you turn left towards Milan\u2019s Peak \u2013 an extraordinary landscape with hunting lodge and fenced area for deers. From Milan\u2019s peak you can reach Tr\u0161\u0107e through the forest trail (P1).<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:gallery There follows a downhill ride to Vrbovsko, one of the oldest and most beautiful settlements. We leave the Karolina road and continue exploring the historic Luisiana road, which leads from Vrbovsko to Brod Moravice, the area that hosts the most sacral buildings and the oldest house in the village \u2013 Dela\u010d House.\n\nBefore us is an interesting descent to the Kupa Valley, where Empress Maria Theresa had planned to build a waterway, but it never came to fruition. In Brod na Kupi visit Zrinski Castle which hosts a permanent exhibition of the Rijeka Natural History Museum. After the Kupa Valley we continue towards Skrad and again on the Luisiana road to Kupjak.
